Which Software Is Used for Animation?

In recent years, animation has become a vital part of the app and web design. Because of their stunning animation effects and fluid transitions, UI animation software is more popular and used in daily design work.

Why is animation so important?

1..Present your product intuitively

Animations make it easier to communicate the features and details of your product, such as interface and interactions.

2. Your brand will be more memorable

An animated design is more attractive than a static logo or web page and stays in users' minds longer.

3. Your design will be more fun and attractive.

Modern design is not just about UI design but user experience. Designs with animated elements make users feel happy and engaged.

Animation is experiencing a new era. There has never been a greater selection of tools for animators and UI designers than now. Which one should you choose animation software for Windows? Surprise, surprise! We have some thoughts.

Let's first agree on the definition of "the right tool."

Flow: Animate Sketch designs are created in seconds.

Thinning the Herd

Asking "Can this software create animated interfaces?" quickly leads to a lot of options. We reduced it to five options. It is time to trim the herd.

Producing vs. Prototyping

First, you must decide if you want "producing" or "prototyping". It is clear that there is a huge difference between the two. The answer lies often in the current stage of the project. You're likely experimenting with high-level concepts such as the overall flow, look, feel, and style of an app/site in an early stage. Any tool that allows you to quickly and easily ground your idea is ideal if this is the case. As you move forward with a project the ability to create fine details becomes crucial. Being able to contribute directly to production is also important.

Tools like Marvel, Figma, and Invision are prototyping tools. All tools have their place, but they don't directly support production. These carefully designed prototypes are handed to animators and designers, and the developers have to recreate it all in code. It is inefficient, wasteful, and frustrating.

Designers and animators need to be producing as well as prototyping. This nonsense is unacceptable.

To be fair, unless you possess a very broad set of design/whiteboard animation software/programming skills -- you probably haven't had much opportunity to truly contribute to the production process. With a variety of new tools, designers can now animate their work and then export it to code.

This is huge. This is the future.

Our Criteria

This brings us to the criteria we use to select the 5 apps that we will cover.

It should be equipped with powerful, high-fidelity animation tools.

It should be compatible with industry-standard file formats, such as. Sketch, Adobe, etc).

It should, on some level, integrate with and directly contribute to production/development: it should export code (both Mobile and Web, ideally).

Export code should be able to allow developers to easily integrate and interact with it.

Let's move on to the apps!

Examples: An animation in CSS: When Things Get Moving

Animation isn't a thing that serves a particular purpose. It can be used anywhere and will always add value. Specific animation (defined with this property is used most often on special effects, while animation with transition is used more frequently on elements such as hover.

Animation property can also be used to define hover effects or lines with unusual behavior.

If you want to add that something to your design, you can add a special effect on the background or some elements (loader ...)., scroll, hover).

Creative Bloq has a great blog with nicer posts and the best examples of CSS animation.
